QuestJobs was born out of one person’s journey — a story of perseverance, faith, and an unshakable belief that dreams can take you anywhere.
Maricel Alcantara is the founder of QuestJobs but everybody calls her Rice. In 2006, Rice left the Philippines for Dubai with nothing but hope in her heart. She had no savings, no safety net — not even a suitcase of her own. Every cent she used to take that flight was borrowed, but her determination to forge a better life was unstoppable. After ten years of relentless pursuit, countless applications, and a mountain of paperwork, Rice received her provincial nomination from New Brunswick in 2016. In 2018, she left Dubai for Canada — the country she had envisioned for a decade. The True North became not just a destination, but a new beginning. Her story is the story of so many — of dreamers who leave home to build a future for themselves and their families.
