What is the Innovation Stream?
The Innovation Stream allows GHP-designated employers to hire foreign workers on a job-offer–based, employer-specific work permit that’s exempt from an LMIA. It targets high-skilled roles (typically TEER 0–3) and aims to speed up hiring for firms that are scaling rapidly. Official details and policy language are maintained on IRCC’s Innovation Stream and the program context appears under ISED’s Global Hypergrowth Project.
How it works (in practice)
An applicant first secures a job offer from a GHP company. The employer then submits the offer through the IRCC Employer Portal, pays the $230 compliance fee, and provides the offer of employment number. With that number, the worker applies online; depending on where they’re applying from, biometrics, medicals, and police certificates may be required. See detailed information here.

How to land PR eligible jobs apart from the Innovation Stream?
There are more than 100 PR pathways in Canada. Most of these pathways are skilled and economic driven. This means that a job offer is required. QuestJobs have categorized more than 25,000 jobs across Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, NL, and BC. All of those jobs are categorized, researched, and filtered in accordance to the eligibility requirements of the province and of the specific PNP's.
*Readers must note that companies mentioned in this article had been categorized based on the employer eligibility requirements of this pathway. QuestJobs did not have any consultation nor a discussion with the companies mentioned. It is always highly recommended by QuestJobs to always ask and confirm with the companies about their eligibility and willingness to sponsor for permanent residency via this pathway.
