Newfoundland & Labrador Issues 330 Invitations (NLPNP + AIP): What It Means Now

Key stats & summary

  • Total ITAs this round: 330

    • NLPNP: 220

    • AIP: 110

  • 2025 year-to-date invitations issued NLPNP 2,473AIP 990

  • 2025 provincial allocation (nominations): 2,525 total

    • NLPNP: 2,050

    • AIP: 475

  • Important: Invitations ≠ nominations. An ITA lets you apply; a nomination is an approved spot within the provincial quota. Provinces routinely issue more ITAs than their nomination spaces to account for withdrawals/refusals.

  • Context for 2026: Canada’s plan increases PNP admissions in 2026, so NL could receive more nomination capacity next year.

What happened

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) ran another combined round across two pathways—the NL Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)—sending 330 invitations overall.
This is the largest NLPNP invite volume since July 10, 2025 and the largest AIP invite volume since Sept 26, 2025. In 2025, the province has conducted 13 draws across both programs.

Why two streams?

  • NLPNP targets candidates tied to Newfoundland & Labrador’s specific labour needs (employer-driven job offers, skilled work, wage/market fit, etc.).

  • AIP focuses on designated employers offering non-seasonal, full-time roles with settlement supports. It’s purpose-built to help Atlantic Canada retain talent.

Allocation picture (2025)

  • Total nomination spaces: 2,525

    • NLPNP: 2,050 (increased mid-year from the original 1,050)

    • AIP: 475
Again, invitations (what went out today and YTD) are not the same as nominations (approved uses of quota). NL can invite above its remaining nomination spaces because not every invite becomes a nomination.

What this means for candidates

1) NLPNP momentum is real

A 220-invite NLPNP round suggests Newfoundland & Labrador is pushing hard to convert in-province employment and priority occupations into nominations this year. If your job, wage, and employer compliance align, your odds improve.

NL PNP is part of the QuestJobs database. What we have noticed in the last 12 months is the number of jobs under NL PNP grows on a slow and steady basis. Most specially when the IRCC granted the province additional ITA allocation. Under the NL Skilled Worker Program, there are 408 jobs currently that are open and eligible for sponsorship. 2) AIP remains a strong entry route—if your employer is designated

The AIP invites (110 this round) reward candidates with non-seasonal, full-time offers from designated employers. If your employer isn’t designated yet, help them understand the process—QuestJobs lists AIP-verified employers to speed this up.

There are close to 1500 AIP eligible jobs as per QuestJobs data. This number includes all jobs within the the four AIP provinces. Search here for the list of hiring companies.

3) 2026 could expand room

With higher national PNP admissions planned for 2026, NL may receive more nomination capacity. That makes Q4 2025–Q1 2026 the right time to line up employer documentation and tighten your file.

NLPNP vs. AIP: quick checklist

To compete under NLPNP, you typically need:

  • A valid, full-time job offer in NL meeting wage and NOC/TEER fit

  • Employer compliance with program rules (business tenure, good standing, recruitment practices)

  • Proof you can settle in NL (ties, intent, plan)

To compete under AIP, you typically need:

  • A full-time, non-seasonal job offer from an AIP-designated employer

  • An LMIA-exempt pathway (AIP uses endorsement, not LMIA)

  • An endorsement from the province after the employer completes settlement commitments

Action plan (QuestJobs playbook)

1) Verify your pathway & employer

  • If your company is AIP-designated, push the AIP route.

  • If not, check NLPNP eligibility (NOC, wage, employer tenure/compliance).

  • Use QuestJobs filters to pinpoint AIP-designated and PNP-eligible employers via this link.

2) Tighten your documents

  • Job offer (full-time, non-seasonal, correct NOC and wage)

  • Language (as required by the pathway)

  • Work history (pay stubs, references)

  • Settlement plan (especially for AIP endorsements)

3) Map timelines

  • Work backward from your permit expiry and employer needs.

  • Ask HR to prep the AIP endorsement or NLPNP employer forms now to avoid bottlenecks.

4) Apply fast, apply right

  • An invite window doesn’t last forever. Submit complete, well-documented files to avoid refusal.

Bottom line (QuestJobs POV)

Newfoundland & Labrador is leaning into employer-linked immigration to fill real roles. NLPNP volume is strong; AIP remains a proven path if you’re with a designated employer in a non-seasonal role. With 2026 set to bring bigger national PNP admissions, the smartest move is to lock your pathway now—employer, NOC, wage, and documents—so you’re first in line when the next windows open.
