What is the OINP Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream?

It’s an Ontario PNP pathway for workers with a full-time, permanent job offer in specific “in-demand” occupations (commonly TEER 4–5) across sectors like construction, agriculture/food, manufacturing, hospitality/custodial, logistics/warehousing, and certain healthcare support roles.

Applicant basics 

• Valid full-time, permanent Ontario job offer in an eligible NOC.

• Meet language, education, and work experience requirements for the stream (language is typically modest—great for on-the-ground workers).

• Intend to live and work in Ontario; admissible to Canada.

• If licensed/regulated (e.g., cooks in certain settings; some health support roles), you’ll need to meet licensing rules.

Employer basics

• Active, compliant Ontario employer in good standing (business registered, operating, following employment standards).

• Job offer meets wage, hours, and genuineness criteria (full-time, permanent, meets standard wages for region/occupation).

• Demonstrate a real hiring need and compliance with federal/provincial immigration rules.

How to Be Eligible (QuestJobs Recommendations)

1. Match your NOC first. Confirm your job aligns with an OINP In-Demand occupation (NOC 2021).

2. Target the right employers. Use QuestJobs Pathway filter, this will show you the companies that are most likely to sponsor. These companies are not necessarily "designated to sponsor". OINP does not work that way. Instead, there are a list of company eligibility requirements that will allow the companies to sponsor an applicant for permanent residency. The companies in the portal had been researched and vetted in accordance to those list of eligibility. Employees and applicants have the responsibility to check and confirm the company's openness to sponsor. 

3. Tune your résumé to the NOC. Mirror duties/keywords of your NOC and job posting; keep it ATS-friendly. Make sure to use the job analyzer and job matching features of the portal. These features help the applicants pass the ATS thereby increasing the probability of being interviewed by 70%. 

4. Gather proofs early. Language results, references, letters of employment, any licensing/registration if applicable.

5. Ask the sponsor question. During screening or offer stage, ask: “Do you support nominations?”

6. Use momentum. GTA roles are plentiful, but secondary cities (Hamilton, London, Kitchener) often move faster and face less competition.
