Can these employers sponsor you under AOS?

For an employer to support a worker under AAIP’s job-offer based streams (including Alberta Opportunity Stream), Alberta requires that the employer and job offer meet all of the following (high-level):

Be incorporated/registered in Canada and actively operating in Alberta ≥ 2 fiscal years, with a place of business where employees report. QuestJobs verified this information and the above mentioned companies are incorporated and have operations in Alberta.

Demonstrate need for the role (valid LMIA or reasonable recruitment evidence if LMIA-exempt). This is non verifiable since this is not a publicly available information.

Show minimum total gross annual revenue of $400,000 (most recent fiscal year) and at least 3 full-time (or FTE) employees in Alberta. If below this bar, the employer can still participate but is capped on how many nominees they can support (e.g., 1 nominee at 2 years; 2 nominees at 3 years; +1 per additional year). Public-sector/Indigenous employers are exempt from the revenue/FTE minimums. Caps apply to applications received on/after Mar 18, 2024. QuestJobs can not verify this information since this is a non ublicly available information for privately held companies which constitutes majority of companies in the list.

Job offer must

Be bona fide, full-time (≥30 hr/wk), 12 months or more, non-seasonal, with wages/benefits meeting LMIA terms (if applicable) or at/above Alberta’s “lowest starting wage” for the occupation (ALIS). Non-wage compensation (e.g., ownership) doesn’t count toward base pay.

Not be: part-time/casual/seasonal, independent contractor/agency, home-based, performed outside Alberta.

Language, NOC/TEER, education, work experience must also be met.
